What deleting does
- Your name, email, phone number and photo are erased, and you're signed out on every device.
- A driver package or paid calling option is cancelled straight away, so you're not charged again.
- Your Ride Tab is closed and its Direct Debit cancelled.
- Your saved cards are removed from our payments partner, Stripe, so they can't be charged.
- A household tab you run is closed, and everyone on it is told. If you're on someone else's, you leave it.
- Your saved places, notification settings and favourite drivers are deleted.
- If you're a parent or carer on a School Runs list, updates stop coming to the app. The council can still reach you by text.
- Assistants you connected, such as Claude or ChatGPT, lose access.
What we keep, and why
Some records the law makes us keep. We keep them with your name and contact details taken off:
- Rides and receipts. Private hire licensing rules make us keep booking records.
- Payments, refunds and statements, for 6 years, because tax law requires it.
- Drivers' licence, vehicle and approval records, and earnings and payouts, for as long as licensing rules and tax law require.
- Safety reports and complaints about a trip, for as long as they might be needed for a legal claim.
After that they're deleted. Our privacy policy says how long we keep each kind of record.
What to sort out first
So nobody loses money and no job is left half done, we'll ask you to finish these first:
- a ride that hasn't been paid for, or money owed on your Ride Tab;
- paid balance you haven't used: spend it, or ask for a refund in the app;
- a ride under way, or one booked ahead: cancel it in My Trips;
- for drivers, money we still owe you (withdraw it first), a payout on its way, or a car you rent;
- a business account you own: close it, or ask us to move it to someone else;
- a School Runs route you drive or coordinate: contact the council or operator, so the children on it still have someone.

Other ways to delete it
In the app. In the Let Rides rider app or driver app, open Profile, then Delete account.
By email. If you can't sign in, email support@letrides.com with “Delete my account” in the subject and the phone number on your account. We may ask you to confirm it's you, and we'll reply within 30 days.
